Walk 1
- 1¾ mile Circular Walk via Campton Plantation
|

Starting
at All Saints' Church, head up Rectory Road. On your left you will
pass the drive to the Manor, on the right the old Rectory then the
entrance to the Recreation ground and Campton Lower School. You
will then pass 'the Glebe' (open pasture land) on your right, where
cattle are usually grazing. |
| Continue
along Rectory Road, and round a sharp right-hand bend into Priory
Road. When you reach the A507, cross the road and enter the woods
to the right of Chicksands entrance. There are some magnificent,
oak, ash, beeech and sweet chesnut trees here, deer and squirrels
can also be seen. |

Follow
the arrowed path through the woods, at the fork in the path continue
straight on. This track will enventually lead you to 'East Lodge
School' situated on the A507(A600) roundabout. Cross the road and
head towards Shefford.On your right you will see the cemetery. |

There is a footpath leading down the edge of the cemetery, walk
along this to the end, cross the road and follow the path/cylcle
way under the by-pass. Continue along Greenway past 'Cherry Orchard'
cottage on your left and 'The Post House' on your right until you
reach the Church.. |
