4th
Nov. Campton Pre-School: We recently held our AGM and a new
Committee was elected. Lynda Cole is Chair, Clare Francis is
Secretary and Ilona Roberts is Treasurer. Our thanks go to the
outgoing committee for all their hard work and commitment.
We have had a busy half term so far, we have been talking
about our selves and
learning about our bodies. We had a very interesting visit from
Gill Richardson (local beat officer) who came in and gave a talk
to the children, and also gave them an opportunity to try on hats and
coats. Some children even had a go at finger printing!
We have also had a very successful Grandparents Day, where we
invited the children to bring in their grandparents for a
session. This was really well received and we hope to do it again.
The Pre-school is planning a few fundraising events; Saturday 25
November at 8pm we are having a 60's night with live music from
'Elvis'. If you
fancy getting all shook up then a ticket will cost you £5, bring
your
own drinks and glasses with a pot luck supper. All proceeds go to
Pre-school.
Contact Maryika on 01462 851729 for tickets.
We are also going to hold a Christmas Bazaar on Saturday 9th December
in the Village Hall - more information to follow.

Campton
Pre-School, We've had a busy year at Pre-school; we have
learnt about
minibeasts and the summer this term and have enjoyed watching our
tadpoles turn into frogs. They can still be seen hopping about the
garden. We will be saying goodbye to 15 children. 8 are going to
Campton Lower School, 4 to
Gravenhurst Lower
School, 1 to Clophill and 2 are moving from the area. We are going to
miss the children, but wish them every success at their new schools.
This in turn means we are losing valuable committee members and
parents. I would like to
thank them all for their continued help and support of the Pre-school.
We are ending the term with a sports day and would also like to thank
Felicity for allowing us the use of her garden.
We are looking forward to our break, but also looking forward to all
the new children we will meet in the September Term. There are only a
few spaces left for next term, so if you are interested in registering
your child into Pre-school, please contact Alison on 07812 459969.
A huge thank you to
everyone who left bags for pre-school. We had a great
response. We won't know how much we've raised until next week,
but thank you to everyone who put out the bags.

CAMPTON
PRE-SCHOOL GIVEN "OUTSTANDING" JUDGEMENT FROM OFSTED.
Campton Pre-school has been running for over 30 years from the Village
Hall. On the basis of the evidence collected at the OFSTED inspection,
the
quality and standards of the care are outstanding, and the quality and
standards
of the nursery education are also outstanding
The report is split into several sections: Helping children to be
healthy; Protecting children from harm or neglect and helping them stay
safe; Helping children achieve well and enjoy what they do; Helping
children make a positive contribution; organisation; improvements since
the last inspection; and
complaints
The organisation was praised for being extremely well organised, where
staff are highly motivated and committed to developing their own
knowledge
and skills to consistently improve the service they offer. All
activities
are skilfully planned and children are given enough time to enable them
to
explore, develop and complete their activities. Leadership and
management
is outstanding. The playleader is very proficient and is supported by
an
enthusiastic and committed staffteam and committee.
