In aid of Macmillan Cancer Support's
Biggest ever coffee morning
Greetings
all you WONDERFUL,
WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL people.
On behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support a BIG THANK YOU for the support you gave today in baking
cakes, providing things for the Bring and Buy, working so hard keeping people
supplied with drinks and cakes, selling things, reminding people to gift
aid their donations, helping set up and clear away, making donations and
thinking about us if you couldn’t be with us. Please pass this message on
to those you know and I haven’t included in this email. Thanks to the family
of All Saints Church for such a great venue for children with balloons, (isn’t
it amazing how much pleasure can be obtained from such a simple thing as
a balloon).
Anyway what you want to know is how much
money we’re donating to Macmillan Cancer Support as a result of all your
efforts.
You may remember in my first email I inadvertently
put that we raised £500 last year when what I should have put was £300.
Well I was a year ahead of myself because this year we raised £530.85. At the moment £320.50 of this has
been gift aided, (adding another £80), and I know of some people
who have yet to gift aid their donations.
I should also mention that some of you are
still out there raising money in other ways. Many thanks for that.
Of course this means that next year we have
a lot to live up to. It’s a good job I’m so confident that you’ll meet the
challenge, otherwise I’d retire now.
So THANK YOU again to: the Gift Aid Guru;
the Coffee Angels; our two Churchwardens who do so much for us, (and at their
time of life!); and everyone who came and ate their way through so many delicious
cakes.
[By the way, Churchwarden ladies, you may
not get the chance to strangle me as that pleasure is currently in the hands
of Jackie, who spent the last couple of evenings frantically finishing off
making scarves, birthday and co-ordinating gift cards, with wrapping paper
– and I forgot to take them over to church for the Bring and Buy!!!].
God Bless You all,
Malcolm Willis
